Ulm Life Science & Medicine Technology Center (ULMTeC)

The "Ulm Life Science & Medicine Technology Center" (ULMTeC) is an operational unit that structurally comprises all the core
facilities of the Medical Faculty. The core facilities of the three technology areas "imaging", "omics", and "model systems"
provide scientific resources, technologies, and services for internal and external users. The ULMTeC management team acts
as an interface between the core facilities, scientists, and faculty administration to ensure the accessibility, visibility,
transparency, and financial sustainability of the core facilities.
The aim is to sustainably strengthen scientific performance
and to fully support innovative research projects through the shared use of specialized infrastructure.

Scientific Services
ULMTeC offers access to central research infrastructures (core facilities) in the three technology areas “imaging” (light
microscopy, small animal imaging, human imaging MRI and PET/MRI), “omics” (genomics, bioinformatics, laser microdissection,
mass spectrometry, proteomics, functional peptidomics, extracellular flux analyzer, cytometry, immune monitoring), and “model
systems” (transgenic mice, organoids, viruses) for research support.
Thanks to continuously updated infrastructure and specialized
equipment, the various core facilities enable all scientists to efficiently address their challenging research questions.
Users also benefit from the expertise of experienced technology experts throughout the entire process. Furthermore, the ULMTeC
Core Facilities provide support in experimental design, the planning and implementation of analyses, measurements, trainings,
data management, and quality control.
Networking events within ULMTeC promote skill development and connect research groups
across disciplines, creating opportunities for innovative and interdisciplinary projects.
