Mass spectrometry analyses, University of Leipzig, faculty of chemistry and mineralogy (MS-UL)
The MS-UL is the core facility for mass spectrometry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Mineralogy of the University of Leipzig
with decades of tradition and profound experience in this field. In our center, the configuration and set-up of large-scale
equipment is sustainably implemented by experienced specialists. We run and supervise the organization of the mass spectrometric
measurement operation of the entire faculty, including the expert support of decentrally set-up systems.

Scientific Services
In addition to ultra-high resolution for accurate mass determination, our equipment comprises mass spectrometers that enable
many different MS techniques. These include various ionization techniques such as electrospray ionization, electron impact
ionization and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization as well as coupling high-performance separation techniques such
as liquid and gas chromatography and many more. Due to the broad portfolio, a wide variety of applications can be offered
on request. On agreement, anyone can make use of the services of the analytical center to a varying extent; details of the
utilization concepts and the current organization of the center are described on our website.
