ZALF Open Research Data is an institutional platform and repository with focus on landscape and ecosystem research data. The purpose of the repository is to secure quality, integrity and long-term availability of landscape and ecosystem research data as well as to enhance accessibility of free data from long-term monitoring campaigns, landscape laboratories (AgroScapeLabs), field trials and experiments. The Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) as hosting institution explores ecosystems in agricultural landscapes and the development of ecologically and economically viable land use systems. ZALF combines scientific expertise from agricultural science, geosciences, biosciences and socio-economics. Since 2010, ZALF has encouraged the registration and archiving of freely accessible research data with DOIs in cooperation with the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) and DataCite. ZALF Open Research Data has been included into the Data Citation Index (Web of Science) by Thomson Reuters in 2015 and into the re3data Registry of Research Data.
